-- 3.13.18 - An internal memo reveals that the Department of Agriculture plans for a massive civil rights reorganization including eliminating the position of Deputy Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights and the whole Policy Division within the Office of Compliance, Policy, Training and Cultural Transformation while having no permanent civil rights leadership on staff. 
-- 5.8.17 - Secretary Perdue issues new so-called "religious freedom" policy statement at the Department of Agriculture, a move praised by the anti-LGBTQ Family Research Council.

-- Opponent of marriage equality who was both "sad" and "disappointed" when "activist judges" found the state's marriage ban to be unconstitutional.

-- Threatened special legislation to pass a state marriage amendment for a second time.

-- Issued campaign flyer accusing his opponent of putting "the interests of the radical homosexual lobby ahead of our Boy Scouts," and denouncing "liberal judges and radical homosexual activists trying to force their agendas on our families."
