Repeatedly misgendered transgender women and falsely suggested they are a danger to others when seeking refuge at women’s shelters. Sought to deny shelter services to transgender women.

Described LGBTQ nondiscrimination laws as suppression of artists’ messages and their religious beliefs. ADF represented two artists who make invitations and other wedding-related items. Anderson said the case was about “keep[ing] the government from telling people what they can create.” 

Said that the Supreme Court ruling that prevents employers for firing employees for being gay or transgender is “disappointing.” Anderson represented the Michigan funeral home that illegally fired Aimee Stephens after she transitioned. “We’re talking about changing the meaning of sex,” Anderson said.

The GLAAD Accountability Project catalogs anti-LGBTQ rhetoric and discriminatory actions of politicians, commentators, organization heads, religious leaders, and legal figures, who have used their platforms, influence and power to spread misinformation and harm LGBTQ people.
