2013 Primetime Emmy Awards: 'Behind the Candelabra' and 'Modern Family' win big; out actors Jim Parsons, Dan Bucatinsky pick up awards

The 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, aired last night and several LGBT-inclusive series, TV movies and out actors picked up awards, with the HBO Liberace biopic Behind the Candelabra picking up three statues to add to the eight it picked up at the Creative Arts Emmys earlier this week. Other highlights include tributes from Elton John and Jane Lynch.

LGBT actors, characters and inclusive series honored with Critics' Choice Television Awards nominations

Nominations for the 3rd Annual Critics' Choice Television Awards were announced this morning and several out actors, characters and LGBT-inclusive series were honored. The award recipients will be announced on June 10 at a ceremony at the Beverly Hills Hotel hosted by Retta (Parks and Recreation).

People's Choice Awards 2013: Gay Performers Sweep Favorite Comedic TV Actor Category

Nominations for the 2013 People’s Choice Awards were announced yesterday and voting is now open to decide the winners. Glee scored big in TV with a leading five nominations between the series and cast and Modern Family followed closely behind with four nods. Of the five actors nominated for Favorite Comedic TV Actor, four are openly gay. A wide range of LGBT-inclusive programs also picked up nominations.

New York Times Profiles Gay Actor Jim Parsons

In a new profile in The New York Times, Big Bang Theory actor Jim Parsons discusses his role in Larry Kramer’s The Normal Heart and his current Broadway run on Harvey. Though Parsons hasn't previously commented on his personal life, the paper also notes that Kramer’s play resonated with the actor on a personal level because Parsons is gay and in a ten year relationship.
