VIDEO: Naomi Campbell talks Empire and her support for the LGBT community

This week, GLAAD: All Access host Claire Pires sat down with Naomi Campbell to discuss her role on FOX's Empire and her support for the LGBT community. GLAAD's video series, GLAAD: All Access, features interviews with newsmakers, hit-makers, and people making a difference.

Campbell has been an advocate for LGBT rights and presented this past April at the 25th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles where she spoke out in support of Carmen Carrera and the inclusion of transgender models in fashion. Campbell said, "And along with GLAAD, I encourage even more diversity in the fashion world, that includes welcoming trans models to the runways. Much love Lea T and also to Carmen Carrera, and I know Carmen is in the house tonight. She's in the fashion magazines W, Italian Vogue and also just to note the recent Barney's campaign [...] The truth is LGBT culture and fashion go hand in hand. They flourish in light of making bold and brave statements."

Campbell joins the cast of FOX's new hit show, Empire, which debuted to high ratings last Wednesday. Empire premiered to 9.8 million viewers and a 3.7 rating among adults 18-49, which was FOX's highest-rated series debut in three years. Creator Lee Daniels also appeared on GLAAD: All Access to reveal how several aspects of this show mirror his personal life as an openly gay man.

Campbell's first episode airs on January 21, 2015.
