One of the best things about working at GLAAD is getting to celebrate the smart, funny, moving AND LGBTQ-inclusive stories we are seeing—in English and en Español. Over the years, I have seen LGBTQ representation slowly increase—and sometimes, unfortunately, decrease again the next year. We have a lot more to do, and the work goes on!

Today we celebrate the steps forward, like the existence of a scripted show or novela from Mexico centered around two young men in love: El Corazón Nunca Se Equivoca which won the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Scripted Television Series at the GLAAD Media Awards July 30.

Telemundo's actors and executives create and share great Pride video

Producer and actress Ileanna Simancas was used to creating holiday-themed pieces with Telemundo's on-air talent, and last month she decided to change things up a bit and came up with a Pride month video concept. The daughter of a family of well-known actors from Venezuela, who had been around the entertainment business since birth, she knows the power of media. So she created a three-minute piece starring popular Telemundo telenovela actors.
