The New Black

The documentary The New Black, which has been nominated for a GLAAD Media Award this year, will enjoy another theatrical run February 12-18 at New York City's Film Forum. GLAAD readers can get a special discount offer, details inside.

Nominees were announced today for the NAACP's 45th Annual Image Awards spanning television, film, books and music. Several out actors/creators, characters and LGBT-inclusive films and television series were among the nominees.

The New Black follows six African-American faith leaders to explore how Black, faith, and LGBT communities intersected in Maryland's campaign for marriage equality, where the role of the Black church as the community's institutional pillar took on a whole new dynamic. The film is partnering with Tugg to bring The New Black to local theaters and churches for screenings, starting on National Coming Out Day October 11.
