Today is the first day of Women's History Month, which means it is time to reflect on the past milestones for women, examine the issues facing women today, and celebrate the incredible women who are working to change lives around the world.
Last week, transgender advocate Alexis Rivera passed away from complications related to HIV. Rivera was 34 years old and worked as Policy Advocate at the Transgender Law Center in San Francisco since 2007. GLAAD offers deepest condolences to her friends, family, and all who loved her.
