It’s a pleasure to share with you the nominees for the 34th Annual GLAAD Media Award in Spanish-Language scripted series and TV, digital and multimedia journalism, as well as a special recognition. It’s a list that includes LGBTQ+ voices brought to life through rigorous research, humorous storytelling or a casual one-on-one interview.

One of the best things about working at GLAAD is getting to celebrate the smart, funny, moving AND LGBTQ-inclusive stories we are seeing—in English and en Español. Over the years, I have seen LGBTQ representation slowly increase—and sometimes, unfortunately, decrease again the next year. We have a lot more to do, and the work goes on!
Today we celebrate the steps forward, like the existence of a scripted show or novela from Mexico centered around two young men in love: El Corazón Nunca Se Equivoca which won the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Scripted Television Series at the GLAAD Media Awards July 30.
One of the best things about working at GLAAD is getting to celebrate the smart, funny, moving AND LGBTQ-inclusive stories we are seeing—in English and en Español. Sadly, this year, because of the worldwide health crisis, we are not able to announce award recipients as scheduled during the GLAAD Media Awards ceremonies. We will be announcing how award recipients will be announced soon. But right now we can enjoy many of the great shows and films and journalistic pieces nominated for awards. With so many of us spending evenings (and days) at home, this may be the perfect time to catch up on TV shows and movies and journalism you may have missed.
WarnerMedia and its many subsidiaries including HBO, TNT, TBS, CNN, Warner Bros, and The CW turned purple for Spirit Day.
Once again HBO and their staff went above and beyond to celebrate Spirit Day and take a stand for LGBTQ youth against bullying!
