BED 26 tells the story of asylum seeker and GLAAD Media Institute alum

BED 26 is an autobiographical play about a gay African refugee seeking asylum in the United States. The play explores Edafe Okporo's experience as an LGBTQ refugee from Nigeria, where it is not just illegal but also deadly to be out as gay. Fearing for his own life, Edafe fled to the United States to seek asylum, where he was detained and taken to the Elizabeth Detention Center in New Jersey

Mexican embassies and consular offices from Houston to China participated in #Spirit Day, sharing a glorious number of photos of staff dressed in purple and sending messages of support. Mexico, through its consular and diplomatic network in the United States, was the first foreign government to join GLAAD’s Spirit Day campaign.
