NEW YORK - GLAAD, the world’s largest LGBTQ media advocacy organization, today urged media outlets covering the Virginia U.S. Senate race to include information on GOP candidate Corey Stewart’s extensive anti-LGBTQ and racist record as a public figure in Virginia politics.

Stewart, the former Virginia state chair for Donald Trump’s 2017 Presidential campaign and current Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of Prince Williams County, VA, built his public image in large part on championing Confederate symbols and condemning LGBTQ inclusivity.

Two Years Later: Remembering and Honoring the Taken and Survivors of the Pulse Nightclub Shooting

June 11, 2018 - New York, NY - GLAAD, the world’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, today remembers the taken and survivors of the Pulse Nightclub shooting on June 12, 2016.  The shooting, which took place on “Latin Night” at the Orlando LGBTQ nightclub, claimed the lives of 49 people and left 53 injured, most of whom were LGBTQ Latinx people and people of color.
