The Opportunity
GLAAD is seeking a Website Producer to maintain all aspects of production related to GLAAD’s website (GLAAD.org) and ensure GLAAD’s work and initiatives are represented on GLAAD’s site in engaging and creative ways. Working with various departmental staff, this role will develop, test and launch new sections and pages. The Web Producer will create new content and work across various departments to source and generate content. This position will create and execute strategies around growing web traffic and also develop and manage the technology to support GLAAD’s site.
This role is part of GLAAD’s Communications Department which operates in a high-paced and ‘always on’ campaign style. The Web Producer will add site content in a breaking news cycle and meet deadlines that are often unexpected, immediate, and occur at off-hours.
The Web Producer will also manage special projects and updates to the organization's web presence including: search engine optimization, reporting on usage analytics, as well as design, update, and maintain websites in HTML, CSS, Java, and other programming languages.
GLAAD will soon perform a significant update on the design and functionality of our site so individuals with experience in overseeing migrating data to new platforms are preferred.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, update, and improve GLAAD’s website, including event promotions and registration, press resources, as well as action alerts and other programmatic content
- Develop and maintain the Drupal website, to include: creating and modifying themes as well as expanding functionality
- Design and implement test plans, metrics, and multivariate split tests for website content
- Work with GLAAD’s Development and Fundraising, Operations, and GLAAD Media Institute teams to create registration forms, fundraising pages, and other pages as needed
- Execute best practices for online donations and fundraising plans for GLAAD’s site
- Compile statistics, analysis and reports on the performance of website
- Work with our graphic design team to develop content that maximizes engagement
- Update and refresh older pages and sections of the site; assign updates to text to relevant staff members
- Test web pages across browsers and mobile to ensure cross-browser functionality
- Lead work to consistency in branding and style across online platforms
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously in fast-paced work environment
- Support other functions of GLAAD's across all departments
Candidate Profile | Competencies | Personal Qualities
The ideal candidate should possess the following experience, competencies and personal qualities:
Experience | Education:
- Required: 5 years related experience as a web manager/designer
Competencies | Personal qualities
- Required: Demonstrated ability to code HTML with and without an HTML editor; must be able to code HTML and have a proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript
- Required: Ability to troubleshoot HTML errors and test across platforms
- Required: Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Required: Experience with Drupal and/or other web content management systems (CMS) specifically creating and modifying themes.
- Experience with image editing/resizing using Photoshop
- Experience with CSS, SCSS and Liquid markup.
- PHP/MySQL and/or Javascript experience
- Google Analytics and/or Google AdWords experience
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and project management skills
- Excellent communication and proofreading skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office
- Experience with donor databases; such as The Raiser's Edge
- Demonstrated commitment to LGBTQ issues; commitment to GLAAD's mission, goals and work
- Experience with LGBTQ language and terminology preferred
Supervision
The Web Producer reports to GLAAD’s Associate Director of Digital Communications.
Compensation
Salary commensurate with experience. Benefits include 403B retirement plan participation; Escalating paid vacation leave beginning with three+ weeks; Flexible Work Arrangements program; and organization paid health benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, EAP, long-term disability insurance and flexible spending. GLAAD is a business casual dress environment.
