Our work tackles tough issues that shape the narrative and provokes dialogue that leads to cultural change. GLAAD operates with support from foundations, corporations and individuals from every corner of the United States. We pride ourselves on recruiting a highly skilled staff of more than 50 people in multiple offices and managing an annual operating budget in excess of $12 million.


Reporting to the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO), the Operations Coordinator will be uniquely positioned to collaborate with Operations team members and across the organization.  The Operations Coordinator will provide stellar administrative support to the CFAO, anticipating both daily needs and new or shifting priorities. The Operations Coordinator will also manage the day-to-day operations of GLAAD’s New York office.  This pivotal role will serve as a key liaison internally with other departments as well as with outside contacts servicing GLAAD’s NY Operations functions. 


  • Thoroughly understand GLAAD, including its mission, values, key stakeholders, and programs.
  • Provide dedicated administrative support to the CFAO, including correspondence, meeting scheduling, travel, expenses, and traffic management of a high volume of documents for signature.
  • Ensure a clean, organized and efficient NY office, including office supplies management, serving as the primary contact for NY office Operations vendors and landlord, and managing conference room calendars.
  • Coordinate scheduling and execution of deadlines relating to facilities improvement projects, such as NY office remodel and security system upgrades.
  • Assist Finance and Human Resources with organizational charts and check processing requests.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and IT to prepare for new employee onboarding.
  • Work with Operations team to identify areas for procedural improvement and participate in implementing solutions to evolving processes.
  • Assist other departments as requested on projects related to major fundraising events and training seminars. 



  • College degree or equivalent. 
  • Two to five years general Operations experience.  Prior work in a mission-based non-profit organization is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience acting as an executive assistant is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated exceptional organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Superb human relations skills, including a sense of humor, a positive can-do attitude and the humility to regularly incorporate feedback from others.
  • Flexibility and an ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment that values participation and consensus.
  • Unassailable integrity and the ability to engender the trust and confidence of a diverse and engaged staff.
  • Able to meet multiple time-sensitive deadlines, handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently, to work under supervision and to work in a fast-paced, goal oriented team environment.
  • Strong commitment to GLAAD’s mission and vision.
  • Willingness to travel, work alternative work schedules as needed, including nights/weekends a must.
