The GLAAD Donor Services Intern will have the opportunity to gain experience in donor relations and training in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge, NationBuilder and other platforms. This will be a 12 week internship with a minimum of 12 hours and maximum 20 hours per week.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Donor Services and the Database Manager, the DS intern is responsible for tasks directly related to donor relations, financial transactions, acknowledgement letters and more. The DS Intern will be an integral part of ensuring all donors have a truly positive experience when supporting GLAAD’s vital work. The internship will include training in our two main databases to help them work within donor records and perform light queries.

Responsibilities:

  • Digitize and organize donor files to ensure proper storage of sensitive information
  • Data entry in both Raiser’s Edge and NationBuilder
  • Perform donor record upkeep including deduping and address correction
  • Data Analysis including identifying trends
  • Raiser’s Edge Training – Opportunity to complete the Fundamentals training series and become RE certified

Qualifications:

The successful applicant will have:

  • Knowledge of and commitment to the LGBTQ community
  • Interest in fundraising, data integrity, events and LGBTQ issues
  • Willingness and ability to work well with others
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel formulas and charts
  • Polished written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Previous database experience a plus

Please note:

All GLAAD interns are required to be students attending an institution with courses leading to a degree, certificate or diploma, such as college or graduate school. Interns must have graduated from high school. Internships are 8-20 hours/week during the school year and 15-20 hours/week during the summer and usually last twelve weeks. Internships are unpaid and must be completed in the office during the regular hours of 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with occasional evening or weekend hours required for certain internships. Please indicate hours of availability and date available to start in the cover letter. This internship is unpaid.
