JOB SUMMARY

The Associate Director of Agencies, Brands & Engagement reports to the Executive Vice President of the GLAAD Media Institute and will leverage prior experience as an account management leader, entrepreneur and builder to connect the advertising sector in meaningful and powerful ways to increase representation of LGBTQ people and drive GLAAD’s mission forward towards 100% acceptance for LGTBQ people. The Associate Director will also be a strategic thinker with the ability to build a powerful presentation aimed to influence and educate professional clients and agencies in Advertising.  This role is responsible for the successful management of accounts and partner relationships and revenue generation of $1 million.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

General Activation & Engagement Planning 

  • Utilize research and analytics to uncover unique customer-brand connections.
  • Fluent in developing strategies, programs and tactics.
  • Contribute to campaign and messaging strategies to ensure engagement/activation is baked into the campaign idea.
  • Ability to concept activation program ideas with creative teams lead brainstorms, refine output and refine ideas.
  • Partner with innovative and creative colleagues and teams to apply the best innovations to program ideas.
  • Integrate GLAAD experience and measurement tools, Report and tell stories on how brands, the category and competitive set leverage inclusive advertising.
  • Lead and moderate strategy development initiatives, workshops and brainstorms for clients and internal initiatives.
  • Uncover research insights, analyze data, cultural trends and develop implications and recommendations.
  • Effectively lead team briefings and ensure team collaboration.
  • Design and consult with market research groups on discussion guides and research methodology.
  • Analyze content performance and evaluate changes over time.

Leadership, Team Collaboration & Client Relationships

  • Effectively lead team briefings and ensure team collaboration with internal brand team members and client teams by offering value across all projects.
  • Maintain a broad view across programs and work streams to ensure alignment and consistency
  • Able to not only share a vision for the brand or program, but can create team ownership to drive commitment
  • Lead success in the work by having fun, sharing creative ideas and solutions.
  • Serve as a strategic consult to assigned accounts with minimal supervision.

Business Development

  • Prospect, educate, qualify, and develop target accounts and leads to create opportunities. This includes target market penetration, calling on CXOs, senior-level executives, following up on marketing generated leads, webinar and event follow-up, creative campaign and door opener outreach, and more.
  • Interact with prospects via telephone, video correspondence, and email.
  • Research accounts, identify key players, generate interest and develop accounts to stimulate opportunity.
  • Become a trusted resource and develop productive relationships with prospects.
  • Update lead scoring and prospect interaction in Raisers Edge to ensure efficient lead management
  • Meet and exceed targets to ensure pipeline and revenue objectives.
  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet our core values and culture.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited college or university.
  • 5-7 years of experience with a proven track record engaging and working with clients as partners and developing social media program strategies, content planning and social tracking/measurement.

COMPETENCIES & ATTRIBUTES

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills including delivering presentations to diverse audiences and moderating.
  • Self-driven with ability to work independently under limited supervision.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Strong commitment and passion for GLAAD’s mission and core values.
  • Passionate:  You’re that person at a party that gets excited when someone asks you what you are into and you want to tell them all you know.
  • Critical Thinker: You enjoy documentary genres or anything that gives you an inside peek into how things work because you want to understand WHY. You see a TikTok trend, and you’re compelled to find out why it went viral.
  • Curious: You’re caught up with obscure subculture, niche Subreddits as much as you are with the latest Netflix shows from Bridgerton to Bling Empire. You love exploring different culture and communities, especially if they’re outside of your own
  • Creative: You always have the most inventive Halloween costumes. You care that your IG posts, your résumé, anything you create, or buy is more than just functional, it’s beautiful.
  • Humble: You believe everyone deserves equal respect, especially at work, regardless of their job title, education level.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.
  • Willingness to travel within the city and nationally as necessary; and work alternative work schedules and remotely as needed, including nights/weekends. 
  • Ability to work outdoors and indoors in a variety of weather and temperature conditions.

COMPENSATION

Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
