Latino and Hispanic Americans tend to be strong supporters of fair and equal treatment for LGBT people, but there are still very few resources that focus on building even stronger support through effective conversations about equality.
The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) and the Movement Advancement Project (MAP), along with contributing editors Bendixen & Amandi, Freedom to Marry, and the Gill Foundation, have co-authored another installment in the Talking About series titled “Talking About LGBT Equality with Latinos & Hispanics.” This new discussion resource focuses on building effective conversations by focusing on shared values of family, respect, faith and opposition to discrimination, as well as approaches for conversations with Latinos about marriage equality.
“Talking About LGBT Equality with Latinos & Hispanics” is available in both English and Spanish and can be found here on GLAAD's site and here on MAP's site.
