Take Action: Record a video for GLAAD about why this election is important to you!

We are only 64 days out from the November Election, and it can not be overstated how much is at stake on November 3, both locally and nationally.

There are so many ways to take action to help get people to the polls to support LGBTQ equality, from registering your friends and family to vote, to spending your free time volunteering, to speaking out about what’s at stake in this election.

We want to hear from you about how you’re taking action from the days from now until November 3. Here are some examples of videos from voters speaking to what’s is at risk in this election and why it is so important to cast your vote on every level.

It's easy to record your own video, by following the script below and describing why voting is so important to you personally, especially this year for the LGBTQ community.

Hello, my name is______, and I’m a name, identity(ies), location, or organization. This is the most important election of my lifetime and I’ll be casting my vote for candidates who support equal rights for all people. Please be sure you’re registered and turn out to vote this year. Go to GLAAD.org/vote to vote, register, and reach your family and friends. Don’t sit this one out.

Voters also recorded messages about what matters to them on a state level and how casting their vote and volunteering can make such a difference. Check out some examples below.

To record a video about your state and the LGBTQ issues on the ballot there, just follow the script below!

Hi my name is _________ and I am a __________voter. Facts about your state specifically as it relates to LGBTQ Equality/issues that affect you directly. That’s why I volunteer/work a poll/tell friends and family to vote/etc.  As voters, we have both the power of our vote and the power of our time. It can not be overstated how important it is to volunteer for causes and candidates you care about and that affect LGBTQ equality. Visit glaad.org/action to vote, register, and reach your family and friends. Don’t sit this one out.

Once you’ve recorded, click here to upload your video and GLAAD will share it on our social media and at glaad.org/action.
