#SouthernStories: Check out Hattiesburg Pride in Mississippi

This summer GLAAD embarked on the Southern Stories Tour, the first part of our Southern Stories Initiative, which aims to accelerate and LGBT acceptance and understanding across the South. One of the stops on the Southern Stories Tour was Jackson, Mississippi, where GLAAD presented a screening of the film L Word Mississippi: Hate the Sin. Some of the people featured in L Word: Mississippi are now leaders of the Spectrum Center, which was a community partner for the L Word Screening.

An LGBT resource organization, the Spectrum Center serves the LGBT community in and around Hattiesburg, Mississippi as a host location for meetings for LGBT affirming groups and organizations. This summer, the Spectrum Center participated in hosting Hattiesburg Pride 2015 with events occurring over the past two months (the WhiteOut party and the Wet Party) and two more large events happening this fall (The Premier Party and the BIG PRIDE party). Take a look at some the photos from the organization's Facebook page and be sure to be aware of the two upcoming Hattiesburg Pride 2015 events:

If you weren't at #TheWetParty yesterday you missed out. But, no worries we'll see you at #ThePremierParty! Feel free to tag your friends. #SoFriedPride
