Sean Hayes, Lily Tomlin, Orange Is the New Black lead 2018 SAG Award Nominees

Olivia Munn and Niecy Nash announced the nominations for the 24th Annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards on Wednesday morning, and several LGBTQ stars and inclusive series picked up nods. The SAG awards will air live on TNT and TBS on Sunday, January 21st with actress Kristen Bell serving as the show's first-ever host.

"With today's SAG Awards nominations, we are seeing an important, continuing trend emerge during the 2018 awards season of Hollywood recognizing LGBTQ stories, and their importance in shaping culture," said Sarah Kate Ellis, President and CEO of GLAAD. “Now more than ever, powerful LGBTQ characters and narratives are necessary to accelerate acceptance, and shows like Will & Grace and Orange Is the New Black, and the characters in films like Lady Bird, Call Me by Your Name, and The Shape of Water, give us reason to celebrate today. Additionally, we honor out actors Lily Tomlin and Sean Hayes for their well-deserved nominations.”

Munn and Nash were an enthusiastic duo during the announcement, which took place at 7 a.m. PT at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood. The two women had a playful time together, joking back and forth throughout the nominations, even adding a bit of social commentary at times to their humor.

Munn wore an '&' pin to show solidarity for those most vulnerable to discrimination in the current political climate. The ‘&’ pin, courtesy of GLAAD, represents the Together Movement, which seeks to unite marginalized communities to resist, persist, and prevail against the hateful and non-inclusive legislation, policy and rhetoric that threatens us.
