Earlier this month, Absolut launched Drink Responsibly, #LoveResponsibly, a campaign focused on highlighting stories about what loving responsibly looks like, especially during this time when connecting with others in meaningful ways has become increasingly difficult.  A survey conducted for Absolut by KRC Research highlights how all types of relationships have been put to the test over the past year, with nearly 40% of Americans saying they have experienced strains in their closest loving relationships, and that drinking more alcohol plays a role in some instances.

As an issue affecting all communities, including LGBTQ people, Absolut has been working with several LGBTQ celebrities and allies to educate their followers on how they can #LoveResponsibly during these unprecedented times, whether in their own lives, with significant others, or through self-love. Check out posts from Rain Valdez, Charlie Carver, Sasha Velour. Danny Pellegrino, Alexandra Rodriguez, and Melissa Benoist below.

Absolut has been a long-time supporter of the LGBTQ community and GLAAD's work to accelerate acceptance for LGBTQ people. In 2019, Absolut Vodka unveiled a LGBTQ Pride initiative, “Planet Earth’s Favorite Vodka,” in support of creating a more sustainable, and accepting, society for all. That same year, in partnership with GLAAD and Pride festivals across the country, Absolut committed to honoring the past 50 years of Pride by paying homage to the people, protests and protagonists who have taken a stand alongside the LGBTQ community fighting for visibility and acceptance. Absolut and GLAAD also released a campaign video called “Celebrating Trans Acceptance,” staring transgender model and advocate Jessica Zyrie and her father Wayne. The video showcases what it means for a father to be accepting and loving of his trans child.
