Novela about a young gay couple premieres tonight on Univision

We couldn’t be more excited for fans of Aristemo, the couple who are two of the lead characters of El Corazón Nunca Se Equivoca which premieres tonight on Univision. Fans of Aris (Emilio Osorio) and Temo (Joaquín Bondoni) have been rooting for their love story to continue since the couple appeared on Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia on Univision last year. That novela won a GLAAD Media Award, tying with Élite on Netflix. We were thrilled to have Emilio and Joaquín at the Awards and they’ve taped a shout out to fans you can below:

The first novela, produced by Televisa, was a ratings hit in Mexico and followed the boys, friends at first, who eventually fell in love. The uplifting story became hugely popular with fans. The new show follows the boys as they move to Mexico City and, along with other characters, experience life’s joys and travails. El Corazón Nunca Se Equivoca has been airing in Mexico for several weeks under a slightly different title: Juntos, El Corazón Nunca Se Equivoca.

“We are so happy to see this love story between Aris and Temo play out in a show that airs on primetime on Univision. Spanish-language media plays an important role in the lives of Latinx people, connecting us to our culture. Seeing their lives reflected in the media they watch, often with parents and grandparents, is so important and can have a huge impact on young Latinx LGBTQ people. The fact that they are lead characters, central to the story being told, is also a welcome change from a time when we either saw no LGBTQ characters or LGBTQ characters with little to do in the plot of the story being told,” said Monica Trasandes, Director of Spanish-Language and Latinx Media and Representation at the GLAAD Media Institute.
