NBC Universal shows its peacock pride for Spirit Day

In 2017, NBC Universal television came together once again to show its spirit for LGBTQ youth. Here are just a few of its stars that went purple to take a stand against bullying.

Is there any doubt that “Will & Grace” is at the forefront of the fight?! We’re so happy they’re back this year!

Ted Danson and Kristen Bell never cease to amaze us with the kindness and warmth they spread in the world:

We see you Matt & Savannah (Today), Mika & Joe (Morning Joe), Natalie & Kit (Access Hollywood Live), and Un Nuevo Día (Telemundo) hosts!

“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” always continues to speak out on social justice issues, especially anti-bullying.

Is there anyone who looks better in purple than super-talented Sterling K. Brown? We think not!

“This Is Us” never ceases to inspire the world. Thank you, Chrissy Metz and Chris Sullivan, for being leaders against bullying!

Andy Cohen turned the clubhouse purple and Pink this Spirit Day!

We love how far Moana herself, Auli’i Cravalho from NBC’s upcoming mid-season show, “Rise,” will go to stand up against bullying.

Her “Rise” co-stars, Damon Gillespie and Grace Aki are also taking the pledge:

We feel super about “Superstore’s” Nico Santos - a role model to many LGBTQ young people!

Thank you, Ben Feldman, for also being a “Superstore” ally.

Great News! Tracey Wingfield rocks the XXL Spirit Day shirt!

These stars of Chicago Med and Chicago Fire have messages about sharing more kindness in the world:

NBC Out is a strong resource group for the network's employees. Thank you for continuing to support LGBTQ youth.

About Spirit Day

Each year, millions go purple for GLAAD’s Spirit Day to support LGBTQ youth in a united stand against bullying. Started in 2010 by high school student Brittany McMillan in response to numerous young LGBTQ lives lost to suicide, Spirit Day now draws the participation of celebrities, schools, faith institutions, national landmarks, corporations, media outlets, sports leagues, and advocates around the world, all joining together to stand against bullying and support LGBTQ youth.

As anti-LGBTQ policies, hate crimes, and harassment are on the rise, it is now especially important to let all marginalized youth know they are supported.

This year, Spirit Day is on October 19, 2017. Take the Spirit Day pledge to show LGBTQ youth you've got their backs at glaad.org/spiritday. Follow @GLAAD on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Tumblr to keep up to date with #SpiritDay news.
