Must-See LGBTQ TV: 'Dolly Parton's Heartstrings' and new episode of 'Black Lightning'

A new episode of Black Lightning airs on Monday, starting a section of the third season, “The Book of Resistance.” The episode will also dive deeper into Anissa and Grace’s relationship. In the episode, Jefferson is torn between his loyalty to his family and his commitment to saving Freeland. Meanwhile, Anissa's commitment to Grace is deepening. Lastly, Jennifer makes an interesting discovery. Black Lightning: Monday, 9pm on The CW.

Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings, an anthology show based on the songs of Dolly Parton, is coming to Netflix on Friday. The final episode of the season, “Two Doors Town,” will center on a gay couple played by out actors Micheal Willett and Andy Mientus. On the inclusion in the show and from Parton, Mientus told Logo, “It’s not a move she’s making because it’s a convenient time to support our community, but it’s that she’s always supported our community even when it was very difficult for her to do so.” Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings: Friday on Netflix.
