MTV's "Faking It" launches casting call for transgender actors

MTV's Faking It has launched an open casting call for transgender actors and actresses to appear in both speaking and background parts for the next season. The casting call for season three comes as season two of the show came to a close this week.

In a brief video accompanying the call, showrunner Carter Covington is joined by Faking It stars Katie Stevens (Karma) and Rita Volk (Amy), who note that the show has featured characters who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, questioning, and intersex in the past. Trans fans and actors who are 18 or older can simply submit a short video where they tell a story about friendship, since the show focuses on friendships.
