Lady Gaga Tweets #glaadawards Acceptance Speech

Singer Lady Gaga this morning responded to winning the GLAAD Media Award for "Outstanding Music Artist." The singer tweeted to her 21 million followers, "I'm so proud to win 'Outstanding Artist' for Born This Way album at GLAAD Media Awards. Thank you so much to your organization."

Gaga went on to say, "Lets remind the world that the zeitgeist continues to beckon for equality+change. The relevancy of freedom, the ying yang of hatred+love."

GLAAD thanks Lady Gaga for speaking out for LGBT equality!

 

 

This is the second year in a row that Lady Gaga has received the GLAAD Media Award in this category.

"Lady Gaga has dedicated her life to making positive change in the world," said GLAAD Acting President Mike Thompson. "Her music and social advocacy have helped countless LGBT young people and inspired so many to raise their voices for equality."

The 23rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York were hosted by Glee co-stars Cory Monteith and Naya Rivera, who, along with John Stamos, auctioned off kisses to three lucky attendees. Check out the video of the auction below.

The 23rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York were presented nationally by Ketel One and Wells Fargo, and presented locally in New York by Delta Air Lines and Prudential. Delta Air Lines is the local presenting partner in Los Angeles. Southwest is the local presenting partner of San Francisco.
