#GLAADAwards nominated documentary 'Valentine Road' available on DVD and On Demand now

GLAAD Media Award-nominated documentary Valentine Road is out on DVD and digital platforms today! The film, which examines the murder of eight-grader Larry King by a classmate and the trial and media attention that followed, was directed by Marta Cunningham and premiered in 2013 on HBO.

Larry King was shot and killed in 2008 by classmate, Brandon McInerney, in Oxnard, California. King, who did not conform to gender norms, became the icon for debate surrounding bullying, acceptance and violence in U.S. schools. Valentine Road explores the media frenzy that followed the crime and the larger questions that it raised about LGBT youth and safety.

The film was nominated for Outstanding Documentary at the 25th Annual GLAAD Media Awards and was an Official Selection at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. The Village Voice called it, "an unforgettable, troubling close-up of small-town American at a moral and ethical crossroads."
