The GLAAD Wrap: Tegan & Sara's new album, 'Transparent' renewed, 'Torchwood: Outbreak' will reunite Captain Jack and Ianto

Every week, The GLAAD Wrap brings you LGBT-related entertainment news highlights, fresh stuff to watch out for, and fun diversions to help you kick off the weekend.

1) Director Lilly Wachowski will step down from the second season of the sci-fi Netflix series Sense8. The series, which follows strangers who find themselves mysteriously emotionally linked, will be overseen by her sister Lana Wachowski. The sisters have always partnered on previous projects. In other TV news, Transparent has been renewed for a fourth season on Amazon. Shameless star Isidora Goreshter will be promoted to a series regular as Svetlana in the show's upcoming seventh season. It was also announced that Shameless will return October 2, a move from its typical January premiere date. Out actors Chris Colfer, Tituss Burgess, and David Hyde Pierce are among the guest stars slated to appear on the new Netflix series Julie's Greenroom from the Jim Henson Company.

2) Captain Jack Harkness and Ianto Jones of the British sci-fi series Torchwood will reunite in a new three-part audio program, Torchwood: Outbreak. Based on the original Doctor Who spin-off series, the series will follow the alien hunters as they try and fight off a deadly virus. The program will be released from Big Finish in November to coincide with the show’s 10th Anniversary.

3) Out duo Tegan and Sarah’s new album Love You to Death hits store shelves today. The sisters also recently announced dates for their international tour, going on now. Check out the video below for their single "Boyfriend".

4) Out pop singer Shura has released a new video for her single "What's It Gonna Be?" The track takes it back to high school crushes and the idea of ending up with someone unexpected. Shura's debut album Nothing's Real is out July 8.

5) The popular stealth action-adventure game Dishonored 2 will feature gay and bi characters in the series’ latest installment. The sequel allows players to choose their protagonist – assassins Corvo or Emily – and explore the coastal city of Karnaca where the player's choices will make a significant impact on the world. Dishonored 2 will be released for Microsoft Windows, Playstation 4, and Xbox One on November 11.

6) Jacquie Lawrence, author of Different for Girls, has launched a crowdfunding campaign to adapt her fictional lesbian novel into a dramatic web series. The series will follow a group of lesbian and bisexual women through marriage, children, betrayal and divorce. You can find out more about project on its Indiegogo page.
