The GLAAD Wrap: 'Snervous' trailer; 'Transparent' teaser; new music videos and more!

Every week, The GLAAD Wrap brings you LGBT-related entertainment news highlights, fresh stuff to watch out for, and fun diversions to help you kick off the weekend.

1) Broad Green Pictures purchased the rights to John Lahr’s book Tennessee Williams: Mad Pilgrimage of the Flesh as the basis of a biopic on the iconic gay American playwright. The untitled project will be overseen by Lauren McCarthy and Shary Shirazi, with no director or writer currently attached.  Lahr's book on Williams won the Lambda Award for Best Gay Biography earlier this year.

2) The trailer for out Youtube personality Tyler Oakley's documentary Snervous was released this week, the film hits theaters December 11.  The film follows Oakley on his "Slumber Party" tour and shows the star’s struggle with coming out to his father. This week Oakley also announced that he will be partnering with Korey Kuhl on the upcoming season of CBS' The Amazing Race.  The YouTubers and Psychobabble podcast hosts will join a cast of social media stars for the reality competition's 28th season.

3) Along with releasing the first teaser this week, Amazon announced that Angelica Houston and Cherry Jones will guest-star in the sophomore season of Transparent. The full season will be available for streaming through Amazon Prime on December 11, Transparent has already been renewed for a third season.  Check out the season two teaser below.

4) In other TV news: ABC purchased a new comedy series, Wing Person, by out writer Hannah Mackay and The Mindy Project's Ed Weeks.  The show depicts the "co-dependent relationship between a lesbian lothario and her cautious, straight male best friend."  FX's American Horror Story and TNT's Murder in the First have been renewed for new seasons. NBC's The Mysteries of Laura, starring Max Jenkins as out character Max, has received an order for three more episodes, bringing the second season to sixteen episodes.

5) Out singer Branden Maclean released the music video for his new song "Tectonic" this week.  The Aussie artist recently gained international recognition after his song "Stupid" appeared on the hit podcast Welcome to Night Vale.  Check out the video below.

6) Out musician Catey Shaw dropped a new video for her track "Tell Everyone" which was filmed live at Brooklyn's Knitting Factory. "'Tell Everyone’ is about the fear of an ex-lover making you out to be evil to all of your mutual friends and pushing you out,” she told OUT. “Everything in a relationship, all the way to the breakup, takes two.” Watch the video below.

7) The documentary The Trouble with Ray is seeking funding help through Kickstarter which will allow them to finish their film. The Trouble with Ray follows the life of Texas LGBT advocate Ray Hill and his 40+ years of activism in Houston, as well as his impact on the movement.
