The GLAAD Wrap: New music video from Miley Cyrus, trailer out for new HBO dramedy 'Mrs. Fletcher,' 'Wynonna Earp' returning for season four, and more!

Every week, The GLAAD Wrap brings you LGBTQ-related entertainment news highlights, fresh stuff to watch out for, and fun diversions to help you kick off the weekend.

1) HBO released the first official trailer for a new dramedy Mrs. Fletcher. Actress and activist Jen Richards will star alongside lead Kathryn Hahn. The drama follows the sexual awakening of an empty-nest mother after her son leaves home for college. The series, based on bestselling novel of the same name, is set to premiere this fall.

2) The production of GLAAD Media Award-nominated Syfy series Wynonna Earp is back on track after facing a delay earlier this year, when it was unsure if the show would be able to move forward with the announced fourth season. The now-confirmed season is slated for a summer 2020 release date. The show features several queer characters, including the fan-favorite couple Waverly Earp and Nicole Haught. 

3) Out pansexual popstar Miley Cyrus released the video for her track "Mother’s Daughter" from her recently released EP, SHE IS COMING. The video featured cameos from trans performers Lacey Baker, Casil McArthur and Aaron Philip, among others.Watch the video below.

4) Singer/songwriter Micki Maverick released a new single "Fine" last weekend, the song is an ode to Maverick’s girlfriend of four years. In an interview with NYLON, Maverick says, "She struggles with anxiety and body image [issues], so I wanted to give her a special song to play when she needs a reminder of how drop dead gorgeous she is. This song was written for her, but I hope it will also serve as an anthem to women everywhere." Listen to "Fine" below.

5) Queer singer Merlot just released a new single "Sunrise." The singer told Out Magazine that the Pride-month release date was appropriate for an anthem they consider liberating and free. Listen below.

6) Two LGBTQ-inclusive comic book series, Goldie Vance and Fence, will begin new novel series in 2020. Goldie Vance follows a young queer detective, who solves mysteries with a group that includes her crush, Diane. Fence follows the fencing team at a boarding school and the romantic lives of the competitors. The new Goldie Vance series will launch in March 2020, with Fence following in September 2020. 

7) Magic Hour is science fiction anthology series that is currently funding for a pilot. The show is executive produced by Pose star Indya Moore, and stars them in a retelling of Frankenstein from the perspective of the monster. The goal of the show is to tell more stories with women, LGBTQIA folks, and people of color at the center of their own stories. To find out more and contribute to the project, click here.
