The GLAAD Wrap: Laurence Anyways Opens in Select Theaters; All My Children Returns to OWN; Cheyenne Jackson Releases New Video

Every week, The GLAAD Wrap brings you LGBT-related entertainment news highlights, fresh stuff to watch out for, and fun diversions to help you kick off the weekend.

1) From openly gay director Xavier Dolan comes the story of Frederique and her boyfriend Laurence, who begins to transition and live as a woman. Set for limited release in select theaters today, Frederique and Laurence must face what Laurence's transition will mean for their relationship. Watch the trailer below.

2) Two-time Tony-nominee Robin de Jesus performs keyboardist Blake Pfeil's "Queen" in a new music video to honor those who have been affected by anti-LGBT violence. "After the recent amplified publicity regarding anti-LGBT violence in New York City and across the country, I woke up one morning and said, 'This is outrageous. Someone needs to say something, do something.'" Check out "Queen" below.
 

3) Out director Roland Emmerich, who created blockbusters like Independence Day, Stargate, The Patriot and Day After Tomorrow, promises a gay character in his upcoming sequel film Independence Day 2.

4) Popular daytime soaps One Life to Live and All My Children have been picked up by Oprah Winfrey's OWN channel and will be on the air Monday through Thursday starting July 15. All My Children features Erica Kane's out daughter, Bianca.

5) Christopher Lloyd, co-creator of Modern Family, says the show is contemplating how to approach the recent Supreme Court rulings on DOMA through the show's gay couple, Cameron and Mitchell. Will the characters get hitched? Tune in to find out!

6) HBO's supernatural drama True Blood celebrated the SCOTUS rulings with a new video for #TrubiePride featuring clips of the shows LGBT characters and couples. Check it out below.

7) The cast and crew of RuPaul's Drag Race debuted a video to celebrate the Supreme Court overturning DOMA. "My deepest gratitude goes to every man, woman and child who has lived proudly, openly and honestly to show the world, their co-workers, family, friends and folks and now the Supreme Court of the United States of America that love is love and family is family," RuPaul says in the video. 8) Out musician and actor Cheyenne Jackson has released a video for his new single "She's Pretty, She Lies." The entire video is shown in reverse, depicting an argument and the ensuing break-up of Jackson's character and his wife. Jackson's new album I'm Blue, Skies is available for purchase now on iTunes.

9) The End Of It, written and produced by Paul Coates, is in need of funding to meet it's $10,000 goal. The play will spotlight three couples—gay, straight and lesbian—as they think about what it would be like to get divorced.
