1) Larry Sullivan and David Monahan, best known as the couple from last year's adorable Campbell's soup ad which also featured their son, have been cast in the upcoming HBO limited series Big Little Lies. The show is being adapted from the novel of the same name which follows the mothers of three kindergarten students and the dark secrets hiding behind their seemingly perfect facades. Sullivan and Monahan join the already announced cast including Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Alexander Skarsgard, Adam Scott and more. Check out the couples' Campbell's ad below.
2) The first trailer for season two of E!'s I Am Cait was dropped this week. The trailer sees Caitlyn and several of her friends – including actress Candis Cayne, advocate Shandi Moore, and GLAAD Board of Directors Co-Chair Jenny Boylan – going on a road trip and includes appearances by several of Caitlyn's family members including Kendall and Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian. I Am Cait will return in March.
3) Out comedian Cameron Esposito's new stand up special Marriage Material will premiere March 24 on Seeso, NBC's streaming subscription service. Esposito and wife Rhea Butcher will also have a new series, Take My Wife, available on the service soon. Out singer and actor Adam Lambert has been cast in FOX's Rocky Horror Picture Show remake as Eddie, he joins previously cast Laverne Cox who will play Dr. Frank-N-Furter. In other TV news, Showtime has renewed Shameless for a seventh season after Sunday's season six premiere, FOX has renewed Empire, and Amazon will stream the entirety of Mozart In the Jungle for free this weekend to celebrate the series' recent Golden Globe wins.
4) Glee star Alex Newell has released a video for the new single "This Ain't Over" from his upcoming debut EP POWER, out February 19. POWER is available for pre-order now with an instant download of "This Ain't Over," Newell will be joining Adam Lambert on tour this spring with tickets available beginning today.
5) Mary Lambert dropped a new video this week for her single "Ribcage" which features verses by K. Flay and Angel Haze. Lambert told Fader that she wrote the song after thinking about how to take control of sharing her own story after dealing with invasive questions during live interviews. "Ribcage" can be found on last year's Heart On My Sleeve, check out the video below.
6) The Brit Awards nominees were announced this week. Electronica group Years & Years, fronted by out singer-songwriter Olly Alexander, tied for the top nominations with four total including British Group and British Single. Newcomer Jess Glynne, whose 2015 debut album was primarily about a girl who broke her heart, picked up three nominations including British Female Solo Artist. The Brits will be held February 24.
7) Prism Comics is now accepting submissions for this year's Queer Press Grant with a winner announced at a Prism panel at WonderCon in Los Angeles at the end of March. The Queer Press Grant is awarded to an independent queer comic book creator and is designed to help get more LGBT-inclusive comics out to fans. Submissions, which close March 1, can include comic books, strips, webcomics, and graphic novels. Find out more at prismcomics.org.
