The GLAAD Wrap: 'Handsome Devil' in theaters, new music from Halsey, Allison Weiss, and more!

Every week, The GLAAD Wrap brings you LGBTQ-related entertainment news highlights, fresh stuff to watch out for, and fun diversions to help you kick off the weekend!

1) Handsome Devil, an Irish coming of age comedic drama about two outsiders at a boarding school, is coming to select theaters on Friday. The film follows Ned (Finn O'Shea) and his new roommate Conor (Nicholas Galitzine) as they try to express themselves in their rugby-focused boarding school. One of the boy's sexuality also comes into play as it clashes with the attitude of the school. Check out the trailer below, Handsome Devil will be available on iTunes June 6.

2) Documentarian Charlie Minn has just finished making One Pulse, documenting last year's Orlando shooting. The film will not go into detail about the shooter, but instead focus on the victims and survivors of the tragedy. The documentary will also focus on the law enforcement response the shooting, and how long it took for the police to arrive. One Pulse is currently looking for US distribution.

3) Jeffery Schwarz, director of "Vito" and "I am Divine," has finished his most recent documentary "The Fabulous Allan Carr." The documentary looks into the life and work of legendary producer Allan Carr, who helped make iconic projects such as Grease and La Cage Aux Folles. The documentary is making the festival route now, and you can check out the trailer below.

4) In honor of pride month, Tyler Oakley is releasing an eight-part web series "Chosen Family: Stories of Queer Resilience," where every week he will release a new video with an LGBTQ theme, and collaborate other queer content creators. The project will start rolling out next week, and you can watch the trailer below.

5) A trailer has been released for the upcoming fourth season of TV Land's Younger, the comedy starring Sutton Foster posing as a younger women. The trailer reveals drama to come, as well as some romance for Maggie (Debi Mazar), the main character's lesbian best friend. Check out the trailer below.

6) Halsey's new album, hopeless fountain kingdom, was released today. The out singer's second full length album is a follow up to 2015's Badlands which reached #2 on the Billboard 200. Hopeless fountain kingdom features sixteen new songs including "Strangers" with Fifth Harmony's Lauren Jauregui who came out last year. The album is available to stream and buy wherever music is sold.

7) Out singer/songwriter Allison Weiss has released a new song and video for "Runaway." The song was co-written with Tegan Quin, and it has a signature upbeat indie pop feel, with an accompanying 8-bit music video. It's Weiss's first new song in a while, and hopefully it will lead to more.

8) Janet Mock has released a new podcast Never Before where she sits down and has intimate conversations with cultural figures. The first episode, out now, is a conversation with Tina Knowles-Lawson aka Beyoncé's mom. There will be nine more episodes of the first season of Never Before, available on all podcast apps.  

9) Bad Penny is a British comedy feature film about Penny, a 29-year-old lesbian car park attendant, going through a break-up and dealing with her boring job. The film is currently running a crowdfunding campaign.The writer's set out to feature a lesbian protagonist, while not making her sexuality her only defining characteristic. Bad Penny is set to go into production this summer, and you can find out more about the project here.
