1.) A24's satirical dark comedy Bodies Bodies Bodies has hit theaters today! Out actress and singer Amandla Stenberg stars as Sophie, fresh out of rehab and eager to introduce her girlfriend Bee (Maria Bakalova) to her rich 20-something friends. A hurricane party at a remote family mansion turns horrifying when a murder-in-the-dark game results in an actual murder, forcing Sophie, Bee and their friends to find the true culprit. 2.) Netflix has released a first-look image of the upcoming biopic Rustin, teasing out star Colman Domingo’s portrayal of the often forgotten civil rights icon Bayard Rustin. Though Bayard was the brilliant strategist behind the 1963 March on Washington and a close advisor to Martin Luther King Jr., he has been all but erased from history books for his status as a gay Black man; Rustin seeks to restore his legacy and illuminate his role in changing the course of history.
3.) Out actress and model Hari Nef has been set to portray transgender icon Candy Darling in the currently untitled biopic penned by Stephanie Kornick. The film will chronicle Darling’s rise from childhood in Long Island beauty pageantry to starring in Andry Warhol’s groundbreaking film Women in Revolt.
4.) Lady Gaga has released a teaser promo confirming her role in Warner Bros’ DC film Joker: Folie à Deux, hitting theaters October 2024. The out actress and singer will star opposite Joaquin Phoenix in the Joker sequel; watch the teaser below! In other casting news, Lionsgate has announced the ensemble cast for its forthcoming adventure horror thriller Creeper, including gay actor and musician Nicholas Hamilton. The film follows a group of young explorers who investigate a haunted abandoned hotel in the hopes of finding legendary hidden treasure. Hamilton will play Tod, the cruel leader of the Scavengers, a rival urbex group.

5.) GLAAD Media Award-nominated drama series Good Trouble has been renewed for a fifth season at Freeform. In the series, residents of a communal living space juggle career, love, sex, and friendship, while fighting for social justice by making noise and getting into google trouble. The ensemble cast includes queer characters Alice (Sherry Cola), Gael (Tommy Martinez) and more! Last season Yasmine Aker replaced Odelya Halevi as Angelica, a queer waitress who must navigate her way though a complicated new relationship with Malika (out actress Zuri Adele) while dealing with the fallout of her last relationship. In more renewal news, NBC’s British game show Weakest Link, hosted by out actress and comedian Jane Lynch, has been renewed for a 20-episode third season.

6.) Pansexual actress Valorie Curry has been added to the upcoming fourth season of Amazon’s The Boys. Based on the bestselling comic of the same name, The Boys follows a group of vigilantes attempting to expose the truth about "The Seven", a group of superheroes who abuse their superpowers— including disillusioned bisexual character with super-stregnth Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligot)— and the multi-billion dollar conglomerate that manages their images and covers up their dirty secrets. Curry will portray the superhero Firecracker.
7.) Paramount+ has released an official trailer for the legal drama The Good Fight, which has been set to return for its sixth and final season September 8. The Good Wife spin-off includes lesbian actress Charmaine Bingwa as first-year associate lawyer Carmen Moyo. Watch the trailer below! In more TV news, HBO Max and Hulu have announced co-exclusive streaming rights of ABC’s breakout series Abbott Elementary, whose forthcoming season order has been upped to 22 episodes. The Emmy-nominated workplace comedy, featuring the awkward gay history teacher Jacob Hill (Chris Perfetti), will return September 21– new episodes plus prior seasons will remain on Hulu and complete future seasons will be available on HBO Max before the next season premieres on ABC.
8.) Out actor and producer Rick Cosnett has been added to the cast of upcoming female-led comedy series Mrs. American Pie. The Apple TV+ series follows Maxine Simmons (Kristen Wiig) as she attempts to secure a place in Palm Beach high society in the early 1970s. Cosnett will play Sergeant Tom Sanka. In more casting news, out British actor Stephen Fry has boarded Netflix's forthcoming young-adult series F**k it Bucket. The series follows 17-year-old Mia Polanco (Sophie Wilde), who is released from the hospital after a legnthy battle with anorexia nervosa. Fry will play the role of Mia's doctor, Dr Nell.

9.) RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Shea Couleé has landed a role in upcoming Marvel series Ironheart. The Disney+ live-action series follows the MCU superhero Riri Williams, a genius inventor and creator of the most advanced suit of armor in Iron Man. In more Disney+ news, the original series Turning the Tables, with out host Robin Roberts, has been renewed for a second season. In season two, Roberts will get personal with a brand new group of Hollywood's groundbreaking women to explore intution, authenticity and vulnerability. Additionally, In more TV news, out superstar Demi Lovato has been set as a special guest, co-host and musical performer on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Falon. Tune in to the NBC late night-series between August 16 and 18!
10.) Queer superstar FLETCHER has released an official music video to her single “Becky’s So Hot”, featuring out actress and model Bella Thorne; stream the song here and watch the video below! In other music video news, queer Canadian dark pop artist POSEY has released a music video for her single “Cynthia” (watch it here) and queer pop singer Rina Sawayama has released a music video for the title track “Hold the Girl” off of her upcoming album, out September 16 (watch the video here and stream the single here)!
