GLAAD partners with 'The Trans List' and 'Raising Zoey' for OUTFEST LA

GLAAD is proud to be a community collaborator again this year at Outfest, the Los Angeles LGBT Film Festival. We are partnered with two films this year: The Trans List  (dir. Timothy Greenfield-Sanders) and Raising Zoey (dir. Dante Alencastre).

The Trans List is the latest documentary from the director of acclaimed films The Out List and The Black List. Like the prior films, The Trans List interviews several influential trans people, including Kylar Broadus, Caroline Cossey, Buck Angel, Nicole Maines, Amos Mac, Laverne Cox, Caitlyn Jenner, Bamby Salcedo, Shane Ortega, Alok Vaid-Menon, and Miss Major Griffin-Gracy. The interviews are conducted by author and advocate Janet Mock. The Trans List will be screened on July 16 at 11:00 am at the Director’s Guild of America in Los Angeles. Like The Trans List on Facebook.

GLAAD will also be partnering with Raising Zoey, a documentary about a Latina trans teen from Southern California. The film follows Zoey and her family as she files suit against her school district for discrimination and begins her medical transition. Director Dante Alencastre's previous film, En el fuego, looked at the lives of trans women in Peru. Raising Zoey will be screened on July 10 at 3:00 pm at the REDCAT in Los Angeles.
