GLAAD partners with CAA and Freedom to Marry for panel on Hollywood and the LGBT movement

Last week, GLAAD's own Wilson Cruz moderated a special panel held at Creative Artist Agency (CAA) headquarters in Los Angeles addressing the entertainment industry's role in telling the stories of LGBT people.

Panelists included actor Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), NBA player Jason Collins, producer and director Linda Bloodworth Thomason (Designing Women, Bridegroom), director Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don't Cry, Carrie), and Freedom to Marry founder Evan Wolfson.  The panel was introduced by CAA Managing Partner Kevin Huvane, and attended by a crowd of industry insiders. Topics included the role of Hollywood in shaping public opinion, being out in the public eye, and the next stages in the struggle for full LGBT equality.

GLAAD would like to thank the panelists and Freedom to Marry for taking part, and particularly the CAA's LGBT Committee for assembling and hosting the panel.
