Last night, Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC), a community-based organization committed to national leadership in the efforts against AIDS, hosted its fifth annual “Fashion Forward” event. The evening was hosted by actress/philanthropist Tracee Ellis Ross and fashion celebrity Brad Goreski, and it consisted of a cocktail reception, auction, and runway show.

Fashion maven and entrepreneur, Julie Macklowe, was honored with the inaugural Style Vault Award for lending her voice to HIV/AIDS awareness. While international women's and men's fashion designers, including Jean Paul Gaultier and Thom Browne, featured fall 2011 runway collections.

The event brought together over 700 leaders of the fashion community, philanthropists, celebrities, retailers, and members of the press. Fashion icon Mikki Taylor, photographer Mike Ruiz and supermodel Jenny Shimizu (pictured right) were among the evening’s guests.

GMHC has been a pioneer in the struggle against AIDS since the very beginning and has continued to lead the struggle through its advocacy. GLAAD was honored to be present at this year’s “Fashion Forward.”
