The Fair Games Project releases new PSA, aims to raise one million dollars by close of Winter Olympics

The Fair Games Project released a new PSA today titled "Russia Declares Discrimination Newest Olympic Sport" as part of their campaign to raise one million dollars by the close of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Donations can be made at RussiaFreedomFund.org which will pay out donations as grants to Russian LGBT organizations.  You can watch the PSA below, but be warned that the spot contains scenes of staged violence.

The video's tagline notes "gay rights are human rights" and points out various countries with anti-LGBT laws including Russia, Belize, Uganda, Saudi Arabia and Iran.

Throughout the 2014 Winter Olympics, GLAAD will continue working with international LGBT organizations, athletes and LGBT Russians to secure media coverage for the stories of LGBT Russians, their families and the harms facing them in Russia. GLAAD has also released GLAAD Global Voices: 2014 Sochi Olympics Playbook, a resource guide for journalists covering the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.
