Chaz and Carson Kick Off DWTS With the Cha-Cha and Charm

The highly anticipated season of ABC's Dancing With the Stars took place last night, and Chaz Bono and Carson Kressley didn't disappoint in their debut performances. This week contestants were tasked with mastering the Cha-cha for their first dance out of the gate, but good footwork and attitude helped both gentlemen secure respectable scores.

Queer Eye for the Straight Guy fashion guru Carson Kressley was up first, alongside his partner Anna Trebunskaya. Dancing to "Moves Like Jagger," Carson had the judges lauding his performance's exuberant flair:

ABC saved the most anticipated debut performance for the very end of the show, when transgender advocate and author Chaz Bono and his partner Lacey Schwimmer took to the stage - after a brief introductory segment in which Chaz introduced himself quite eloquently - and demonstrated some impressive steps. When it came time for the judges to deliver their verdicts, they praised his onstage demeanor just as much, each saying it was obvious how much fun he was having:
