Celebrities come out in support of Irish Marriage Equality

On May 22, Ireland could become the first country to legalize marriage equality through popular vote. This history-making moment has inspired many celebrities to speak out in support of the LGBT community.

Harry Potter alum Evanna Lynch took to Facebook to share a video promoting marriage equality. She added. "Why would anyone vote no and promote such inequality and intolerance in our society?? Vote Yes, Ireland!! #‎YestoEquality‬ ‪#‎EndMarriageInequality‬."

This video is so powerful. I have no idea what it feels like to be physically assaulted for my differences but I do know...

Comedian Jarlath Regan went the tongue-in-cheek route, tweeting out a picture of a coffee shop sign that reads, "If you don't like gay marriage, blame straight people. They're the ones who keep having gay babies." In addition to poking fun at nonsensical arguments against gay marriage, Regan tweeted, "#VoteYes."

Eoin Macken joined in on the fun, tweeting a link to the Yes to Equality 2015 page.

Sir Ian McKellan himself took to Twitter, as well, encouraging Irish voters to make history. In the process, his hashtag #VoteWithUs trended for hours.

Once Upon a Time actor Colin O'Donoghue kept it short and sweet, saying, "We are all equal! Vote YES!"

We love to see these celebrities use their platform to #AccelerateAcceptance.
