Catch a sneak preview of "Her Story" at Newfest, followed by Trans Hollywood panel

A sneak preview of an upcoming scripted dramatic web series, Her Story, which focuses on the dating lives of trans and queer women characters in Los Angeles, will screen at NewFest in New York. Co-written by Jen Richards and Laura Zak, and directed by Sydney Freeland (Drunktown's Finest), the plot of Her Story centers on the stories of two trans women who, after giving up on love, have chance encounters that spark potential new relationships. Richards, co-founder of the Trans 100, and trans entrepreneur Angelica Ross star in the lead roles. The series is being produced by Katherine Fisher from Speed of Joy Productions, and executive produced by The Vagina Monologues playwright Eve Ensler.

The sneak preview will be shown at NewFest on Monday October 26 in NYC at 5:30 p.m. After the preview, there will be a panel discussion and Q&A session with the creators of Her Story. The panel will feature Jen Richards, Laura Zak, Angelica Ross, Sydney Freeland, and Katherine Fisher.

Immediately following the Her Story panel, there will be another panel focusing on being transgender in Hollywood at 7:30 p.m. Join host Tiq Milan for a candid discussion about the evolution of transgender representation in film and television. Confirmed panelists for the event are Harmony Santana (Gun Hill RoadEating Out: Drama Camp), Michelle Hendley (Boy Meets Girl), Zackary Drucker (co-producer Transparent, supervising producer This Is Me), Angelica Ross (Her Story), and Brad Calcaterra (owner, Studio NYC and ACT OUT).
