Los Angeles film fest aims to bring great Mexican film to the U.S.

The Hola México film festival aims to bring great films from Mexico and Latin America to the United States. The Los Angeles festival screens over a dozen films between June 1 and June 9. Several of the films have LGBTQ characters or themes, including Oso Polar, focusing on a bullied gay man and a class reunion and filmed on an I-Phone by filmmaker Marcelo Tobar. Bruma tells the story of a young Mexican woman who travels to Berlin to find her father and forms a bond with her father's lover. Evening rooftop screenings include the classics Pan's Labyrinth, Y Tu Mamá También and Amores Perros. For more information, visit https://www.holamexicoff.com
