What to Watch: This Weekend, February 11-13

Friday night marks the return of Degrassi, plus new episodes of Spartacus, Portlandia, and Your OWN Show and an appearance by Kathy Griffin on Leno. Transgender teen Adam and his crush Fiona grow closer during Sweetheart Week, but he starts to blame himself for Fiona’s out of control drinking. Here’s a sneak peek at tonight’s premiere: 9:00pm: Your OWN Show: Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star, OWN (1 hr) NEW Out contestant Ryan O’Connor was on the winning team during last week’s style commercial challenge, and tonight he and the remaining contenders are assisted by out financial expert Suze Orman in producing a “Can I Afford It” finance segment. 10:00pm: Spartacus: Gods of the Arena , Starz (1 hr) NEW Last week, Barca’s fellow gladiator and lover Auctus died in the ring at the hands of Crixus; how will the doomed warrior deal with the grief this week?  Also, Batiatus continues to clash with his father, and his wife Lucretia and her lover Gaia agree to help him with a plan to regain control over the ludus. 10:30pm: Portlandia, IFC (30 min) NEW Tonight, Fred and Carrie create a search party when the mayor of Portland goes missing! The Kids Are All Right is nominated for original screenplay, along with leading actress nods to both Julianne Moore and Annette Bening and a supporting actor nomination for Mark Ruffalo for their roles in the film about the emotional ramifications of a lesbian couple’s children meeting the man who served as their parents’ donor . 7:30pm: American Dad!, Fox (30 min) NEW In tonight’s episode “A Piñata Named Desire,” omnisexual alien Roger asks Stan to attend an acting class with him, but tempers flare when they audition for the same role. 8:00pm: The Grammy Awards, CBS (3 hrs) Adam Lambert, Lady Gaga, and the cast of Glee are among the many LGBT-inclusive nominees at tonight’s 53rd annual Grammys.
