Nominations for the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards were announced on a live special on CBS last night, and a variety of LGBT music artists and allies made the cut, including a few former GLAAD Media Award Nominees.  Among these, Lady Gaga made out the best with six nominations, including Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, and Album of the Year.  Her producer RedOne was also nominated for his work on three tracks off of her album The Fame Monster. Producers Rob Cavallo and Dr. Luke were nominated for tracks they contributed to Adam Lambert's album For Your Entertainment, and Mr. Glambert himself was nominated for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.  On the Dance and Electronica front, the group Goldfrapp (fronted by out-singer Allison Goldfrapp) received two nominations.  Indie rock band Vampire Weekend was nominated for Best Alternative Music Album for their record Contra, which includes the song "Diplomat's Son"; a melancholy gay love song cowritten by out-bandmember Rostam Batmanglij. Some staunch LGBT allies also made a fine showing, including former True Colors Tour headliner Cyndi Lauper, whose album Memphis Blues was nominated for Best Traditional Blues Album.  Comedian Kathy Griffin was nominated for Best Comedy album, as was out-comic Margaret Cho. The Sean Hayes and Kristin Chenoweth headlined musical Promises, Promises was nominated for Best Musical Show Album, while the TV show True Blood was nominated for Best Compilation Soundtrack.  In that same category was the Fox smash Glee, whose cast rendition of "Don't Stop Believin" was nominated for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
