GLAAD Wishes You A Happy Celebrate Bisexuality Day!

The bisexual pride flag was created by Michael Page in 1998.

Today marks the 19th Annual Celebrate Bisexuality Day. Declared an official international day of recognition in 1999 by three bisexual rights activists: former BiNet USA president Wendy Curry, Michael Page and Gigi Raven Wilbur, according to BiNet USA's press release, CBD was actually preceded by similar events dating back to 1991. Today is a day to promote the visibility of bisexual people, culture, community and history. Events are being held around the country and in the UK to support this goal. This year is also the 25th anniversary of the Bisexual Resource Center (BRC) as well as the 20th anniversary of  BiNet USA. Please see BRC's resource page for additional bisexual resources.  Bi folks and allies alike will also appreciate last year's Celebrate Bisexuality Day guest post by BRC President Ellyn Ruthstrom, "How to Be An Ally to a Bisexual Person" Most of all - don't forget to celebrate!
