Indie band Fol Chen, featuring GLAAD Media Award winner Patrik-Ian Polk, kicks off a summer tour with its first show tonight in Los Angeles. LA Weekly called Fol Chen "LA's best new band" last year after the release of their first CD, Part I: John Shade, Your Fortune's Made. Their second CD, Part II: The New December was just released today and is again an LA Weekly music pick, described as "deliciously cut-up, electro chamber-pop." Patrik-Ian Polk is the writer/director of Noah’s Arc: Jumping the Broom, which received a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Film-Limited Release in 2009.
