Tell National Geographic Channel that a #ToughScout can be gay or straight - #AreYouTougher
On Monday, March 4, National Geographic Channel premieres its new reality series, Are You Tougher than a Boy Scout, in partnership with the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), despite the fact that the BSA bans and ejects gay scouts and leaders.
The show is being used to market the BSA to young people, but fails to inform viewers about the organization's dangerous anti-gay policy. By airing the series, National Geographic Channel has stepped into a uniquely influential role as a strategic business partner of the BSA. So far, over 120,000 people have already signed a Change.org petition calling on the network to speak out. Will the National Geographic Channel do the right thing and speak out against discrimination?
Take Action! Tell National Geographic Channel that a #ToughScout can be gay or straight, and that the network must denounce the Boy Scouts' anti-gay policy.
