In observance of the 13th annual Transgender Day of Remembrance, New York City's LGBT Community Center will hold an event on November 18 coordinated by the Gender Identity Project (GIP) at the Center and it is being co-sponsored by GLAAD.
This coming Sunday, November 20, marks the 13th annual Transgender Day of Remembrance, a time to honor the memory of those whose lives were lost due to anti-transgender violence.
More than 300 spectators gathered and sang “We Shall Overcome” yesterday in a rally to draw attention to violence against transgender individuals after the violent attack on Chrissy Polis, a transgender woman violently attacked in a McDonald’s bathroom in Rosedale, Md.
