Spirit Day is quickly approaching and stars of the stage have taken to Twitter to show their support for LGBT youth and take a stand against bullying.

This year’s Spirit Day participants will include more Latino celebrities than in previous years, spreading the message of support for LGBT youth and against bullying is spreading beyond the U.S. borders.

Conservative political commentator Ann Coulter decided last night to make a joke about family rejection of LGBT youth. If you disagree with Coulter and want to stand with the millions who support and embrace LGBT young people then join us for Spirit Day on October 19 and go purple today on Facebook and Twitter.

Spirit Day isn’t until this Friday, but many churches used their weekend worship to kick off Ally Week, leading up to Spirit Day. Last Sunday, GLAAD challenged participants to ask their place of worship to go purple. So far, over 50 religious organizations and congregations have signed on to participate in Spirit Day, and many got the ball rolling over the weekend.
