Frameline Film Fest Kicks Off in San Francisco This Week
This year's 37th Annual Frameline International LGBT Film Festival will kick off in San Francisco on Thursday, June 20 and run through Sunday, June 30. Screenings will be held at three cinemas in San Francisco and one in Berkeley, CA.

Mel B to present Adam Lambert with GLAAD Media Award in San Francisco
International pop icon Mel B (Melanie Brown) of America's Got Talent and the Spice Girls will appear at the 24th annual GLAAD Media Awards in San Francisco on May 11, to present Adam Lambert with the Davidson/Valentini award for his efforts to promote LGBT equality as an out performer.

Roman Catholic Leaders Continue to Oppose Equality for LGBT People
Roman Catholic leaders throughout the United States continue to demonstrate that they will not support equality for LGBT people, despite widespread support among American Catholics. The next leader of the Catholic Church in San Francisco was recently announced as Salvatore Cordileone, one of the architects of Proposition 8. Meanwhile, Cardinal Francis George of Chicago and Archbishop J. Peter Sartain of Seattle both reiterated their opposition to marriage equality in public statements.

Mormons Take Steps Toward LGBT Acceptance
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, more commonly referred to as the Mormon Church, has often had an antagonistic relationship with the LGBT community and its supporters. Back in 2008, the church was one of the strongest supporters of Proposition 8, which repealed marriage equality in California.
