Pariah

Students at the largest multi-denominational seminary in the world are making history by becoming the first evangelical graduate theological school to create an official LGBT student organization. They are now hosting an LGBT film festival featuring several GLAAD-nominated films.

Russell Simmons and LaLa Anthony presented Pariah with the award for Outstanding Film – Limited Release at the 23rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards.

GLAAD honored the best in LGBT images in the media at the GLAAD Media Awards in New York.

By popular demand, Focus Features’ award-winning Pariah, written and directed by Dee Rees and starring Adepero Oduye, is adding more theaters around the country.

GLAAD recently asked Pariah director Dee Rees some questions about the film and her own journey as an out African American lesbian. Pariah opened in select theaters across the nation last week and has continued to garner much media attention especially in outlets geared toward the African American community.
