The Central Conference of American Rabbis, All Souls Episcopal Cathedral, and MORE SPECIFICALLY Baptists have joined the United Church of Christ in a lawsuit that challenges North Carolina's constitutional amendment banning marriage equality.
The United Church of Christ (UCC) made history this morning by becoming the first major Christian denomination to file a lawsuit against a state government. The UCC General Synod has asserted that North Carolina's ban on marriage equality is a violation of UCC clergy's free exercise of religion under the First Amendment.
The Campaign Southern Equality released a new video in their ongoing "We Do" campaign. The "We Do" campaign encourages LGBT couples in southern states to apply for marriage licenses in their local counties.
